In the handcrafted paradise of hers, there are thousands of nuances of feelings, but you will encounter neither despair nor desperate joy. Her heroes are constantly in motion, turning upside down, embarking on adventures and enjoying leisurely activities, honest and open with their thoughts and dreams. The characters of Rapai-Markish’s world are proportionally grotesque and colorfully dressed, but they seem funny and naïve only at a first sight. The very essence of her sculptures opens up to the spectator immediately, both familiar and understandable. “Olha Rapai’s workshop” is a fragile kingdom created in the times of monumentalism.
